Poem with Two Endings
Written by Jane Hirshfield
Death is voracious, it swallows all the
living.
Life is voracious, it swallows all the dead.
Neither is ever satisfied, neither is ever
filled,
each swallows and swallows the world.
The grip of life is as strong as the grip of
death.

兩者都永遠吃不飽
有生就有死
有死就有生
兩者勢均力敵
是開始也是結束
是結束也是開始
Life or death
that is

?
