Even if you're going to live three thousand more years,

Or ten times that, remember:

You cannot lose another life than the one you're living now,

Or live another life other than the one you're losing.

能夠把握的

唯有這一輩子

 

 

The longest amounts to the same as the shortest.

人生可長可短，殊途同歸

 

 

The present is the same for everyone;

Its loss is the same for everyone;

And it should be clear that a brief instant is all that is lost.

當下是一視同仁的

不管是獲得還是失去

也就只有當下

 

 

 For you can't lose either the past or the future;

How could you lose what you don't have?

不會失去過去或未來

未曾擁有如何失去?

 

Remember two things:

1.      that everything has always been the same,

and keeps recurring, and it makes no difference

whether you see the same thing recur in a hundred years

 or two hundred, or in an infinite period;

歷史不斷重演

也許百年，也許兩百年，或是在無限的未來

其實沒什麼差別

 

 

2.    that the longest-lived and those who will die soonest lose the same thing. 

 The present is all that they can give up,

since that is all you have,

and what you cannot have, you cannot lose.

不管長壽或者短命，失去的都一樣

唯一能夠放掉的就是當下

因為只有當下

其他的都沒有，既然沒有就無所謂失去了

Note: 這裡的照片都是在瑞典斯德哥爾摩 Gamla Stan (古城)拍的。門框上常常看得到建築物建造的年份。我很喜歡最後一張--牆壁上的石灰&油漆剝落成非洲大陸的形狀，有塗鴉者噴上 AFRIKA 幾個字，也是有創意的 graffiti!
